April 10th, Friday, 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.
The Senior Quest programs are designed to maintain and enhance well-being through the later decades of life. Drawn from the wisdom and practical skills of the yogic tradition, these programs aim to help participants to:
- Conserve and improve existing mental and physical resources
- Explore new areas of knowledge and understanding
- Build a community of fellow questers interested in physical, mental, and spiritual health
The Basic Program has been built directly from a decade of experience teaching yoga to seniors, and improved with the feedback of many individuals who attest to yoga improving their quality of life. The classes are interactive, and have a balanced mixture of physical practice, engaging discussions, relaxation practices, and a touch of meditation. One goal of the program is to help participants become confident to practice a short (20 minute) routine at home daily, which consists of specially selected yoga postures to help with the common physical issues seniors especially want to address. Some of these issues are: balance, core-strength, spinal flexibility, leg/ankle strength, and general physical tension. Mentally, we will focus on simple relaxation techniques and basic meditation skills. There will be a physical and philosophical theme of the week, with a handout and suggested readings for those who wish to do some additional learning and home, but this is not required. After completing the basic course, students can go on to a similar Level Two program, or join an ongoing class for graduates of the course, just for seniors.
The eight week course can be purchased on the Mindbody page

Through the practice of yoga, children will learn to breathe deeply, develop body awareness, and improve flexibility, strength, and balance in a fun and engaging way. By practicing mindful activities, children will also learn new and exciting ways to calm their minds and strengthen their focus.
Kathy Revelle and Jenna Rupert are passionate and experienced yoga teachers who love sharing the practice of yoga with kids in order to help them navigate the emotional, social, and physical challenges that come with growing up. By teaching kids to develop life-long skills like self-confidence, compassion, and kindness towards themselves and others, we can create a better future for the next generation.
